Pole Cup — Barents Outdoor

Product development — concept, CAD, prototyping, testing and production follow-up

During my work at Barents Outdoor, I developed a new pole cup that makes it possible to mount two tent poles together for increased stability in strong winds and heavy snow loads.

The project began with a customer requirement for a stronger solution for tents intended for demanding professional use in extreme winter conditions.

A small part with many considerations

Although the component is small, it had to address many requirements at once.

On the underside, rounded runners protect the strap from the ground.

From prototype to production

The part needed to look as solid as it actually was.
